This document describes policies regarding grading, homework assignments, programming projects, midterm examinations, and final examination.

Homework assignments will be given approximately every week and are due by 6:00 p.m. on the due dates as shown in the class schedule. Late assignments will not be accepted; however, you are allowed to drop one of your homework scores, presumbly the lowest.
There will be three programming projects as shown in the class schedule. No project assignment score is allowed to be dropped; however, you are given 7 late days for the entire semester on your project assignemnts. After you have used up your 7 late days, penalties will be applied to your late assignments: 5% off on the 1st late day, 10% off on the 2nd late day, and 20% off on the 3rd late day. No project assignment will be accepted three days after the due day. Project assignments are due by 6:00 p.m. on the due date.
There will be two midterm exams. Everyone must take the midterm exams in class on the scheduled date. Midterm exams are closed book and notes. Some of the exam questions are similar to homework questions. Midterm exam scores cannot be dropped.
The final exam will be comprehensive, but will be weighted towards the material covered in the last 1/3 of the semester. The final will be given in class on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 a.m.
